The image for this post shows I had zero seconds of over run from the Pure247Radio.org Good Friday, Breakfast Show with my wife – JoJo. Anything 10 seconds under, or over, the hour is perfectly acceptable. Under 5 seconds is great, with anything less than 1 second an awesome accomplishment, especially while Live. But zero seconds dead either side of the hour?!? Always a very sweet feeling!

Especially when I was up at 0620 to do this special Easter breakfast show. Because, at 0120, I was sitting on my bed, sweating, pleading with God to settle my heart beat and resolve the issues I’ve had [for nearly 5 years at this point] of palpitations and atrial flutter, that even heart surgery could not fully resolve.

Then I read the words of Jesus, while on air, as we delivered the show – of how He was pleading with His heavenly Father – twice – to spare Him the suffering He knew was coming with the Cross of Calvary. I remembered my own praying of that same prayer; “please God remove the suffering of my palpitations”. I saw how even Jesus asked to be spared the pain and suffering He knew was coming.

I truly hope my heart issues can be resolved. But, until then, I’m gonna keep on praising and worshipping and serving God, living by faith trusting Him for my every need. I’ll do what I can, when I can, as long as I can and leave the rest to the Lord of Lord and King of Kings.

The closer you come toward darkness and sickness, the greater the power and meaning of the sacrifice of Jesus on that rugged cross becomes, if you open your arms to Jesus.

If you’re still wrestling with why you’d need Jesus in your life, please drop the pretence of your coping well with life – which doesn’t fool anybody, including yourself – and accept the reality that you can not enjoy peace and joy and hope in this life, without first putting your hands in the hands of Jesus Christ first.

He takes our brokenness and redeems us and restores us into beautiful reflections of Jesus.
